One day, a long long time ago, I travelled to a far away land to rummage for goods.
I set off with no intentions or expectations whatsoever. We found a cute secondhand store, accidentally, had a browse, things were dull, reasonably priced but dull, UNTIL, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted the most beautiful vintage lunch box my eyes ever did see, tucked away in a cardboard box, I obviously immediately sprung for it. I picked it up and realised that it was far too heavy to be filled with air, had somebody forgotten to remove their sandwich and juice box before donating the item?
No. It was filled with treasure.
An abundance of vintage pottery, and porcelain. Collected tid-bits from all over the world. Each item as beautiful as the next. I freaked. I rushed to the (rude) cashier to enquire about a price. "How much for these items, please" (The filled treasure box, A 1950's "Baby Ben' alarm clock, A kitten themed tin box, Another box with a beautiful, hand painted bird on the lid and an Embroidered floral, knitted jumper) "Uh, 6 dollars" "Pardon?" "6 dollars!!" "60?" "No, 6"
I had my purse out in a millisecond.
Anyway, I would love to show you every single piece inside of that box, but I really cannot be bothered. So here are a few gems. The collector obviously enjoyed buildings and horses.
They're dusty and dirty, but I don't want to clean them, I am afraid that I will ruin their character.
This town house is beautiful, I cannot explain how much I would like to live in all of the buildings inside that rusty lunch-box.
This dog is my personal favourite, I absolutely love the detailing on his back.
After looking at all of the pieces, I found this wing in the bottom of the box and deemed it to be as beautiful as all of the other treasures.
